After the Chicago Fire burned up the opposition to capture the Major League Soccer championship. This year, the team kept the heat turned up in a series of television spots filmed on the Encore Video Productions soundstage in Myrtle Beach, (SC).

When the team scheduled a spring training session in Myrtle Beach, the Rosen Group advertising agency, of Chicago discovered that Encore's downtown studios and soundstage were the perfect place to film the Fire's TV ad campaign. "It was an answer to a prayer, a wonderful facility," said the Rosen Group's Renee Rosen.

The day-long shoot utilized both the soundstage and Encore's adjoining all digital videotape edit suite, allowing the filmmakers to monitor the camera images through video assist. The 1,000 square-foot soundstage with 24 foot ceiling offers a catwalk for high angle shots, a full cyc rack, and 600 amps of lighting power.

The series of four ads featured the Chicago Fire players and coaches in uniform, surrounded by flaming torches and other extensive pyrotechnics. Commented Rosen, "it was non-stop flames. The spots turned out to be fabulous."
